Hey there! This week, we're shifting focus to a new exterior project while our painters and electricians finish up interior scopes for the Richter job. At the Grimes house, we’ve just started working on a new gazebo that will become a stunning outdoor focal point!

Grimes Project

We kicked off the gazebo build by creating a 3D rendering in SketchUp and collaborating with the client to make sure our visions were aligned down to every detail. After removing the original patio slab, new concrete footers were added with the purpose of supporting the gazebo’s heavy duty structure. Then the new concrete was poured and finished with a custom slate-stamped texture to create a natural stone like appearance.

While the concrete was setting, we carefully sanded and stained each of the glue-laminated timber posts, adding an extra layer of protection while showcasing the wood’s natural beauty. Unlike traditional solid timber, these “glue-lams” are engineered for superior strength and resistance to weather, ensuring they won’t warp or crack over time.

On the day of photos, our team was busy installing these custom fabricated, powder-coated post bases, which provide both durability and aesthetic appeal to the gazebo.

We’re all about merging form and function, and these posts are a perfect example!

With the foundation set, our next step will be to install the posts and beams, marking an exciting transformation as the gazebo starts taking shape. This stage is where the project will really begin to come to life, showing off the careful planning and custom craftsmanship that will make this outdoor structure a standout feature!

Design Spotlight

With spooky season in full swing, we couldn’t resist drawing inspiration from the dramatic pairing of orange and black—but with a sophisticated twist! We took these classic fall colors and elevated them, creating a moody, elegant palette that feels rich and inviting.

It started with this eye-catching floral wall tile from the Z Collection. This stunning tile's intricate design was the initial spark, pulling us deeper into the luxe vibe. We combined this with a high-end vinyl floor from Karastan’s Refined Forest collection, adding comfort and depth that perfectly complements the moody tones. Next we incorporated a bit of brass glam with this Anthropologie vanity that adds a touch of playful elegance. And to top it all off, this Taj Mahal-inspired quartz countertop brings subtle warmth that balances the bolder elements. This mix of high-end textures and luxe materials is our new fall favorite!
